People who know about guns become killers. People who know about computers become hackers. People who know about police work find ways to avoid getting caught. There is no good reason for anyone to know ANYTHING about these subjects. This "free knowledge" shit is all part of the conservative pro-crime agenda. If you care at all for public safety and stopping Republicans from trying to undermine our government, you support dangerous knowledge being banned.

    That is a gross generalisation. They are also the ones who create the facebooks and IIN's of the world. If we follow your reasoning then all knowledge is potentially dangerous and we'd return to the stone age.
    If anything extremist republicans want us to be stupid in order to keep their power so that's another preposterous idea you have.
    Judging from the idiotic bullshit tv feeds the masses with on a daily basis I hardly believe that people have too much knowledge.

    You are an idiot. Just because someone has a gun is not to say they are a killer. I guess you are saying we need no more cops. So next time you are getting mugged or someone is getting raped lets not call the cops SINCE THEY HAVE GUNS. So I guess when they put up how many pedophiles live in your city on the computer its a bad thing. I guess you will think different well at least until they rape your children.     I think this stuff should be hidden. They have books you can buy at the store that say "How to become a serial killer" and "How to make bombs at home" and "How to hide a dead body". Unless you are a serial killer I do not see why you would want to read this. Some of these things really do not need to be known and I don't see how you could get away with writing them. Also yes these are real books. They were in the "How to" section of the bookstore. Write next to the "How to draw" and "How to do computer programming" books. Now understand criminal psychology is one thing. Learning how to kill someone does not seem like its something that would help the general public in a positive way. That is considered free knowledge. So yeah you might want to cover up your bad behaviour by pretending its innocent but we all know what you are up to.

    I don't think that the OP is totally mad, because I am in favour of repression of unneccesary and possibly dangerous knowledge, but the "dangers" of it are more than a little over-stated and based mostly on opinion, not fact, by the OP. You don't even mention how this could be done in a remotely realistic way.

      So you do not want to know if you have a pedophile or rapist next door? You do not want to know you can call the cops if someone attacks you? Sure they should not be able to sell books about "How to kill" But the OP is mad and needs to be ignored since they are clearly planning to kill us all or is delusional with some sort of mental illness characterized by paranoia.

      I think this is a plot. He wants to convince us to pull the information since they are in it and since they are in it we know to be careful. If we do not see him coming he can strike without warning. I see the scheme of the OP or else he is just truly insane and wants to destroy the government.

      Who do you trust to decide what should be concealed? I certainly dont trust governments or academics to make such decisions. The world has always decided, as a whole, what to do with knowledge. The formula for ANFO is simple and well known and it is a very powerful explosivd that can be made from readily available components. It has been used ( McVeigh in OK City) but rarely. Secrets come out and knowledge spreads, we have to deal with it.
