Most people aren't looking for serious commitment on there (unless you use an app or website you need to pay to use)for various reasons. Most of them just want sex, others are bored and lonley and just scrolling out of boredom and with those people you might exchange a few sentences after matching and that'll be it. Plus I wouldn't recommend getting seriously involved with someone who spends lots of time on dating apps. They know they can always find someone else if they get bored with you when things are no longer exciting because they've gotten used to that and probably won't stick around in hard times. There's exceptions as always but that doesn't mean you'll match with or even have chemistry with those exceptions. A lot of things has to line up. It's probably best to find someone in real life or if you wanna meet someone online, to not do it via dating apps. Befriend someone and stay in touch. There's less pressure and none of you expects anything special.
