It's definitely true that I would miss a lot. There is plenty of visual beauty in my everyday life too; I love the rolling green hills around the house where I live with my parents, and I love the sights of the city where I live with my friends.
I chose blindness because I felt like I had eliminated everything else first. The rawness of spoken-word communication was too important to me to choose muteness or deafness, and full-body paralysis would take too much of my independence.
I am almost certainly undervaluing sight to some degree, which is probably a sign that I don't use it enough (funny as that may sound). Too much looking at screens and the insides of four walls, not enough looking at the real world and the people I love. Stuck Inside At Summer Syndrome.
Do you prefer to be blind, deaf, mute, deaf-mute, or body-paralyzed???

Thank God I don't have to choose for real :P
