Do you prefer pen and paper...or technology?

  • This time last year, I went away and stayed in a lovely hotel in Wales and deliberately took no technology. While I was there I found I had the urge to write so I did it with pen and paper. Oh. My. Lord! You have never seen so much crossing out and arrows pointing all over the place and such... mess!

Sometimes when I write, I hold down Ctrl-Z to undo all my writing and then hold down Ctrl-Y to make it all reappear as a stop motion video of how I typed it. I don't write in straight lines and I'm constantly going back unpicking bits or working on things. It's like looking at ants swarming over a hill of words.

So for me, technology every time. Cut, paste, undo, and saving multiple versions of things are a God-send. Plus backups!

    • know what you mean, I generally prefer typing as its easier on the hands and my spelling can be awful at times.
Ive gone won holiday without technology...always take the phone at least because the car is bound to break down! but I don't use the internet on holiday (got a very basic phone!)
