I'm a man and I prefer female singers.
It's probably because I'm gay though. I like pretty much all the stereotypical "divas". Mariah Carey, Britney and Selena Quintanilla are faves.
as a gay man, i like female singers more because, 1. they sing what its like to be in love with men, have their hearts broken by men, so its easier to connect and relate with them. 2. i find women voices more soothing and beautiful. 3. i love strong, fierce, fabulous women, i have so much admiration and respect for women too.
Idk, I think a lot of gays live vicariously through sassy women.
I just like their music haha
Out of 138 bands/ artists in my music library, only 7 are female vocalists. Theres something about female metal vocals that I dont like (although I do like Arch Enemy) or other genres as well.
For me it depends on the quality of the individual artist not their gender.
I'm a woman and prefer male singers. I find male voices more soothing and nicer sounding.
I really like female singers that have deeper voices too.
I prefer male singers. I am insanely picky when it comes to female vocalists...
Interesting how girls seem to prefer male singers and guys prefer female singers.
I couldn't choose one over the other because I enjoy them both a lot but I have noticed that most the music I listen to has a female vocalist :/
It depends...I don't really prefer one or the other in general but there's particular songs that I feel sound better sung by one or the other. Like Crazy by Willie Nelson, I like Patsy Cline singing it way better! The lyrics just don't feel 'male' to me.
Love music in general. But that that being said, I like the sound of female vocals.
I did a similar post and someone turned me on to Mars Argo. Britney Sheets is awesome.
Kitty is still one of my favorite heavy metal bands. Morgan Lander was good but it was Tanya Candler who really impressed me. I was disappointed when see left. But then they did a cover of Pink Floyds "Run Like Hell" that was just awesome, and I normally hate covers.
Also Poe, Avril Lavigne, K's Choices' Sarah Bettens, Bjork, Sarah Mclachlan, Jewel, Eurythmics' Annie Lennox, Nena, Runaways Cherie Currie, Joan Jet, Blondie (The first rapper to appear on MTV, yes she rapped), Cyndi Lauper, Jackie Evancho (Ave Maria), Charlotte Church (Pie Jesu, and her Panis Angelicus blew away any performance by Pavarotti), And Hole's Courtney Love (yes, you can hate me now) to name a few.
Just depends, i prefer to aing along with females, unless they are to flashy.. but men sound sexy especially country guys
Willy Nelson has a voice that kills me. I don't know why I stopped listening to music.
I enjoy both but female voices move me a great deal more than male voices usually.
I used to listen a lot. I heard a singer from the cranberries died recently and I loved them. I also love the sound of the fleetwood mac singer and i really love an albumn called Swamp Ophelia by the Indigo girls. I don't think any of that is because I am gay but maybe it is.
As an Inflatablist, I tend to enjoy listening to both men and women singers. But since I come from a time when males were cranking out most of the big hits, I tend to lean male.
