Do you play lottery when prizes are extremely high

Work at the gas station. Every single person who has come in has bought a mega ticket for hopes of the “1 Billion Dollar Jackpot prize”!! I personally don’t condone gambling, but how could you pass up a big prize opportunity like this one!!!

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Sometimes I play the lottery... Right now the Eurojackpot is about 100 million Euros. That would make my life an absolute dream. Every business idea I have - reality. Every dream car I want - in my garage. I won't have to live in Germany any more, I will go back home to Bulgaria. I'll sell my gardening/ cleaning company and open new businesses back home. I'll also be under the radar. No supercars, no wild parties, no private jets and no media attention. If you know the right people in Bulgaria, nobody can know how much money you actually have...

Life would be perfect. And I'll buy a yacht! Ain't nothing better than sipping Chivas Regal as the sun sets over my Sanlorenzo 118, as I think of what is yet to come.

I assume play the home version of the lottery. That is where you take money out of your wallet and throw it in the trash.
It yields the same chance of winning.

After taxes, the winner will net $290 million. Still more than most people will ever have in a lifetime.

The odds of winning are 1 in 292 million. In other words, if you invested ALL the net winnings into tickets, there is STILL a chance your number would not come up.

People say they would live normally but with a ton of money coming in, suddenly you would start thinking about lifestyle options previously unavailable.

the more tickets bought, the less of a chance you have winning.

The chances of winning do not change based on number of tickets sold. What DOES become a possible issue is if more than one person has the winning numbers, then the prize would have to be split.

This. There is a higher chance of the jackpot hitting though.

No, I never play. Kind of a waste of time, I think.

Time? You do know you also have to spend money on it, right?

It's the same odds of hitting. I never play.

I don't think I would want a billion dollars anyway. Too much hassle.

Know what? I think that happiest millionaires are in the $10M to $20M category. They are good at flying under the radar, drive inconspicuous cars, spend time in countries all over the world, and are good at managing their own investments. It's a far flung, high power lifestyle.
      (I'm a 2%er. There's no way I could live like they do.)
