I guess it depends on the person and the relationship. If I told him some guy was hitting on me, he wouldn't care. I also don't think he'd care if I didn't tell him. Not telling him is not the same as hiding it from him and I think there's a limit to how honest you should be with anyone, especially a loved one. I also think there's a difference between secrecy for the sake of deception and just a little bit of privacy and not needing to tell every single thing.
