  • I honestly thought for a while all vegans were like PETA, but some vegans dont give a crap about animals and just want to be healthier.
I am a meat eater, but I think it is a little silly that some vegans dont drink milk when it doesn't hurt animals and is healthy.

    • Some people don't drink milk because they don't wish to support the large dairy industry; conditions cows are kept in on SOME dairy farms are cruel -

Others don't because it's unnecessary; there are plenty of better sources of calcium and protein for humans.

Some don't because they can't; lactose intolerance is common.

I do eat dairy products, but I can understand why others don't.

    • Well, I care a lot about animal rights but still I'm nothing like PETA people.
Lactose intolerance is quite common in any non-white people though, so it makes sense that this is something avoided by a large number of people.
Then again, on the ethical side it won't really make a difference for the farmers whether you buy milk or meat. The point of veganism is (in my view) not to financially support an industry whose principles are incompatible with my own views on ethics. Making this industry insignificant gradually is the only way to protect animal rights (as understood by vegans) in the future.
