Yeah, I can totally see where you're coming from. Naturally, we tend to put on slightly different "masks" whenever we have multiple friend circles, so that if the different groups were to ever meet, we're afraid of one group finding out how we would act around the other group of people.
I think all in all it depends on who I'm mixing exactly though. Example, I have two friends who are going to the same college. Before they started going, they didn't know each other. One of them's a little shy, the other one's a social schmoozer. Even though they're very different, I introduced them because they had the common ground of going to the same school. Even though they don't really see each other that much (it's a big campus), they're still on good terms to this day.
