I'm curious as had a guy say to me to shave my arms but I said no I don't want them shaved as I think that's a stupid idea
Anyone who gives others unsolicited advice on how they should groom themselves is a douche. What, if anything, you decide to do about your body hair is your choice and nobody else's business.
A guy telling a woman that she should change her appearance is red flag. At the very least, it indicates that he's someone with rigid beliefs about what's attractive. It very possibly also means he has a concealed need to control women. If you're in some sort of relationship with this guy, be prepared for his suggestions on how you should change your appearance to continue and escalate.
It's not uncommon for both men and women to dislike their body hair and to believe they look better without it. Why that's the case is an interesting question, but I suspect it's often related to our culture's obsession with youthful appearance.
The next time some guy comments on your arm hair, ask him if he's a paedophile, since he seems to be saying he'd prefer it if you looked like a ten year-old girl.
I get shaving pits, but I've never seen a woman, whose arms were so hairy, she'd have to shave them.
Every woman I know just has fine, delicate hairs on her arms. Kinda like peach fuzz. It don't bother me.

What exactly happens depends on the roll of the genetic dice at conception, but all women naturally have arm hair. For that matter, they also naturally have chest and back and facial hair. It's just that the hair there usually isn't very obvious since it tends to be fine and light-coloured.
The only woman I've seen with lots of arm hair was a supermarket cashier. She had a unibrow, mustache and had arms hairier than mine... (A normal guy).
But every other woman I know, or have been with just has fine arm hair that isn't really noticeable, unless you look closely. It don't bother me, but whoever is dating the sasquatch at the supermarket should invest in a laser hair removal gift card XD
I have shaved my arms before but literally once. It’s very time consuming and it doesn’t make much difference anyway. I shave my pits often my legs less often and my pussy even less often. I shave when I want to because it’s my body and ain’t nobody going to tell me when and what to shave. You do you boo
