Because you're most a likely horrible owner if your dog has done such things before. Dogs are nationally acclaimed to be man's best friend for a reason, but that's not to say cats can be just as amazing.
A dog will not eat such things if you train it right. A dog will NOT attack ANYONE if you train it right AND TREAT IT PROPERLY. There's not a single animal in the world, as far as I know, that will attack a human without reason.
And a cat HAS attacked me before, and I've witnessed one attack my dad, most likely because it was abandoned and treated wrongly by humans and thought it was being threatened. Don't blame the animals for those type of things. It just shows both of your ignorance . . .
