    • Nice balance between art classics and popcorn classics!

The 400 Blows is fantastic. Truffaut is just a genius, and I love French New Wave in general. Have you seen Breathless or Hiroshima Mon Amour? Two of my all-time favorite films.

      • I really got into the New Wave when Criterion was really pumping them out, especially the Godard and Truffaut releases. Breathless is wonderful, Jean Seborg is just delicious. Someone else mentioned Breathless as well, but I can't find who it was now. Jules and Jim is another favorite as well. Louis Malle's films came later, but I tend to include him when I think of the new wave because, for me anyway, they have that same presence.

I didn't list any Bergman films because I don't really have any I watch annually, but every so often, and I have to be in the right mood, they're still a treat.

      • I drink your milkshake.

I had a bit of a man crush on DDL for a while after first seeing this.
