Do you have any rituals with your partner?

I’m trying to find new things to do for my boyfriend, little rituals or traditions that we can start.

We started one where I make a big breakfast every Monday morning and he makes a big dinner every Friday night.

Yes, I do 10
Yes, with past partners 5
No, never 4
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

It puts the lotion on it's skin or it will get the hose.

  • My girlfriend sews little pockets onto the inside of my clothes/socks/hats and puts laminated four leaf clovers, jade charms, gold coins, and pebbles she chiseled symbols on for good luck and protection.

On the average outfit I’ve got like 8-14 different things in these pockets, going through metal detectors is always a gamble lol.

I think it’s ridiculously cute so I asked her why she goes through all the trouble to do this for me and she said “Because you’re kind of dumb and you need extra luck”
    .... bitch

Luckily I'm partner-free at the moment!!! So no.

Now, why are you thinking of doing things "for" him? I'd think it'd be way more interesting to find things to do "with" him.

    • Because I love him and want to do special things for him. We do plenty of things together and he does plenty for me, I just want to come up with new ways to return the favor

Fair enough but you did ask about rituals 'with' the partner. :) The only thing I remember doing right now is that I used to write cute messages on our bathroom mirror with window markers and every year making a birthday cake that was in his family for generations and making them pretty with flowers. I've also written cute mini-books for them (more than one partner haha).

My girlfriend does that some times after she takes a shower and she knows I'll go into the bathroom after her. Leaving cute messages...

And since I have a juvenile sense of humor, sometimes (often) I'd just draw a dick and a retard smiley on the mirror and walk out snickering, or laughing out of the bathroom. And if I was feeling romantic, I'd go an pick up my girlfriend, kiss her as I carry her to the bed and rev it up.

She's also left me lipstick kiss marks on the drivers window on my car a few times. I can't really have a comeback for this, since we scrapped her car and I would look like an idiot if I wore lipstick XD

We share cooking, so that's the closest to a ritual we have, the other is going out to eat every Saturday.

Another cute one is to write the message in the mirror when it's fogged up. It disappears when it dries out and reappears when it fogs up again! No dicks this time - just a heart and smiley face will do!

For the car you can write a cutesy/silly note and leave it in the fold out thingies that block the sun and/or have a mirror (what ARE they called??) in the passenger seat of all your cars!!

That's what she does, messages on fogged up mirror. I guess I should overcome my childishness and leave her cutesy, romantic messages and hearts too.

              The car idea is fantastic.
              PS: They are called sunshades.
I'll leave her a few messages there, each with a different romantic thing. Maybe stuff I love about her, compliments, stuff like that...

And I'd also bake and cook things I knew they liked and create others that I thought they would like, but that one you already do.

That's sweet and cool. Since I work a 9 to 5, I don't really have time to cook a proper meal and my girlfriend is a university student with more free time than me, she cooks in the week.

But in the weekend, it's my time to shine. Always cooking something special. I open up my bigass word file with recipes from my dad, or look up new recipes online and then make something new. So far we haven't had a bad meal.

Guess that's a ritual of sorts...

I mean we aren't really dating but I have this one chick friend, every Thursday we salt a pentagram on the floor and sacrifice a chicken to the Baphomet.

Omg too many to count. Back massages come to mind though, so there's one.

She cooks everyday so when I get home she has my food wrapped up in the fridge ready to be popped into the microwave and she always puts some design on the aluminum foil.

My weekly ritual with my family is to make baby back ribs every thursday night in the crockpot, and friday night we always have rib eye steak. We've been doing this every week for several months now.
