I hate the modern trend of harshly chastising smokers. It's just one of those things that "everybody's gotta do" to "seem cool".
But in seriousness, we live in an informed age. Smokers know the risks associated, and the smell that some people find irritating. Nobody forces non-smokers to make out with chicks that light up. I don't know of any smokers that actively seek to intentionally ruin people's day by smoking AT them.
The extreme and excessively absurd amount of vitriol spat at smokers by some people is just confusing. Why waste so much of your energy on something you don't have to deal with if you don't want to?
As a smoker, thank you. It gets really annoying. :P Yes, I know it's bad for me. Yes I know I should probably quit. No I don't need to hear it again, it's not as easy at it seems.
I would have to avoid so many places I like if I really wanted to quit smoking.. :/ I stopped for 2 months once, went to a rave and BAM. Cigarettes again.
I've tried to quit several times as well, even got myself one of those e-cigarettes, but it's this mixture of not *really* wanting to, AND the fact it's incredibly addictive.
People ask me all the time how I do so much strenuous physical activity and smoke regularly (especially at age 28) and all I can really say is... all things in moderation? (Honestly I don't even know how)
Yeah, the e-cigarette is what I was using to quit... does kind of help because if you're smoking the e-cig you can't have a cigarette. At least for me, the e-cigs made me cough like crazy if I would smoke a cigarette and then go back to it.
I do feel I need to cut back a little... it hasn't slowed me down much, but I can't sing Nightwish well anymore. That at least is a good reason to slow down.
Do you find smoking to be a turn on?
