Do you feel bad (remorseful/empathetic) when watching gore?

I’ve watched a lot of gore stuff and I’m desensitized to it now, so I just don’t really feel bad when seeing this stuff (as far as seeing people be tortured/killed), do you feel guilty/bad about it or not?

I feel bad when seeing gore videos (people being tortured/in pain) but not pictures 3
I don’t feel bad either way 6

I used to look at gory pictures, but it just feels wrong to me.

Yes, gory pictures like on rotten dot com, but it's been a really long time, and gory pictures aren't the same as pornography.

I also want to mention that the websites I used to look at that garbage on are all gone.

I've never felt any attraction to gore.

Back when the internet was young about twenty years ago, there was an infamous website called Sileproject (the name has since been sold and the site has gone mainstream porn) which was one of the first shock-websites, with all kinds of more or less vanilla porn as well as some perverted, twisted images. I'm pretty sure Stile was largely responsible for spreading (yuk, yuk) one of the first internet memes: Goatse Man.

My recollection is that the images on the site weren't tagged in the early days, so as you clicked through, you'd see porn pictures of all sorts (the bandwidth of the site and most people's connection back then meant trying to watch a video involved starring at a "Buffering" bar slowly creeping across a little window), but then you'd suddenly get a crime-scene photo of some guy whose head had been smashed open by a sledgehammer, or someone who had been literally ripped in half in an industrial accident.

It's not like I puked when I saw those pictures, but I clicked off them pretty fast, since they didn't do anything positive for me. A couple of those images are still lodged in my brain - as is the one and only child-porn photograph I've ever accidentally come across.

I suppose I can see how seeing images like that might be helpful in a strange way to someone who has experienced awful things in their life. It's not unusual for people who have experienced sexual abuse to later find that fantasises about that abuse have a high erotic charge. On the face of it, that seems perverse and illogical, but the point is that in the fantasies, the victim has some control over what's going on, so they're sort of taking ownership of the experience retrospectively. Maybe something similar happens when someone who has, for example, seen someone they loved killed in a gruesome way sees real-life gore images.

Perhaps you might want to think about why exactly images and videos of such things are attractive to you, and what exactly you gain by seeing them.

I would say no. Maybe some exceptions but in general no, I have been desensitized.

I feel bad either way. Ive only come across one video of a torture years back. It was from a guy raping a kidnapped girl. It was real you could tell. I went back to see the video a while later to show someone and it had been deleted. Havent seen it since. It made me sick tho. I fantasize about rape stuff but I guess its only fantasy because it made me sick to my stomach. It was too real. The look on her face was disturbing

It sounds hot in theory but when you are watching the real things its different. Like I'd be ok with seeing a girl get smacked around on cam a bit but when you know shes gonna die its sick. Ill never forget the look on that girls face. I hope it was fake but you could just tell it wasn't...

It didnt show the murder but you watched him rip out a fingernail and then it cut forward and her hand was nailed to the chair. Its fucked up how evil some ppl can be. And one of the scariest things is the guy that did it is probably perfectly normal acting in real life..

Honestly with how good some of the acting I've seen is I don't think any of it's real.
