When I say it, people get offended. When I don't say it, people get offended. It's very annoying.

    No, I say "Gesundheit".
But I never know when it's appropriate. Do I say it if I don't know the person? Do I say it to distinguished people?

And more importantly: If they sneeze again did I fail?

I say Gesundheit too, and I say it to everyone and anyone.

Well I just think it's polite to say bless you. Many people may not know this, but the saying "bless you" after people sneeze actually came from the plague that broke out in London in 1665. Because whenever they saw/heard people sneeze, they would assume they had the plague, so they would give them their blessing.

OMG NEVER EVER EVER. I made a poll a while back asking if it's normal to never say bless you, because in no way does a person naturally expelling unwanted objects from their nasal passages warrant a blessing. And the majority of people on that poll thought that my thinking was absurd.

I say Gesundheit due to the fact that I'm Athiest. :p Lol although my mom is Catholic and says it both ways.

It's more of an automatic reflex anymore. It doesn't really seem to serve any purpose other than to call even more attention to the sneezing person, but I still end up saying it.
