Do you constantly fantasize about being rich?

I constantly fantasize about being rich as a way to escape the harsh reality of being poor. I'd picture myself living in a huge mansion on top of a hill with an old english butler serving me. We would have intelligent conversations and then I'd find a tampon in my Beef Wellington with my butler saying, " My word, what the bloody hell? ". Stuff like that :)

    Im sure being rich isn't all thats cracked up to be being rich can only give you happiness for so long until something goes wrong that being rich wont matter even the richest people can be miserable even if you are rich it might not be all that great if someone is extremely depressed even being rich might not help besides most rich people are usually selfish and only care about their money and they dont see the reality.

    Oddly enough I actually often imagine myself as the stereotypical butler, with the British accent and everything that goes along.

    Sometimes i do fantasize about being rich but most of the time i fantasize about something else ... because i do not really wish for a lot of money (i like sports )

    I hate society sometimes, seriously once you've got enough money you're fine and more money won't make you happy (unfortunately the media will tell you otherwise). Don't believe their lies, they trying to sell you stuff, so they want you to have more money, so they'll tell you that it's important.

    I fantasise about winning the lottery and never having to worry about everyday.I suppose you could call it an obsession I never get jealous of people that win it though, I think the reason is that because I want it that much I actually expect to win one day. I had a horrible dream once where I forgot to put my lottery on and my numbers came out. I've heard that's happened to some people. O.M.G not checked the lottery yet I could be a millionaire! Well it's got to be someone that wins it might as well be me! xxx

    It's jealousy, but I see how easy some people have it and think of all the things I could do without financial worry.

    But then it's all relative - someone poorer than me could look at what I have and think how easy I have it.

    The difficulty is realising how lucky you are. I haven't managed that yet.

    If I was Bill Gates rich I would take all my wealth and donate it ALL. I would only leave enough for me to live out the rest of my days on a budget of about 60-80k dollars a year.

      Its easy to say that when you dont have the wealth to back up your words, and ideally we all would like to be like that, but it would be really hard to do this if we found ourselves in this position. Not saying you wouldnt donate to needy causes, but donating it ALL and living on $60-80K a yr?

      Plus remember that donating doesnt necessarily mean it will end up where you think its going. I would want to think it did, but people are people and nothing is easier to take then money that has been "donated" by "rich" people who think they are "doing the right thing".

        Bill Gates is an interesting example because he does donate TONS of money to different causes, but he's also personally involved in a large number of them... Probably for the very reason djpatties said - you can't just assume your money is going to a good cause. I think that's a very noble thing to do as a rich person - not only donate your money, but use your superior education/resources/business sense to try and make the world better.

          Bill Gates does donate TONS of money as you say, BUT he also has a house that is probably if not the most expensive house in the world, it is one of the top 5. The property taxes alone on the property are over $1 million a year.

          I would find it easier to believe in the rich and their philanthropy when they dont live in huge mansions while donating money to causes that equate down to me (making $65K a yr) giving $50 a week. Yet credit is given to gifts of $50 million or more. For someone worth $30 Billion, $50 million is nothing, literally.

    Not at all. True wealth and external riches have nothing to do with each other.

    And if they did, imagine what that means for the poor man or the common man.

    I want 5 nice cars, a big house and a pool, and private houses on personal islands all over the world, my private jet and helicopter, i want my own chef who can make perfect kfc hotwings, and after i have all that..i might just give a dollar to a homeless person.

    I would love to have infinity amount of money, just clap my hands or something and money shows up, like 100$ bills. I would be rolling in the dough.
