Exactly. I think fishing for compliments is done all the time, just usually much more subtly. But we can't admit it, because if we did we'd have to admit that we're insecure about ourselves! People who act like they are in complete control and entirely stable are, simply put, bullshit artists. Everyone wants validation from others.
