    Try being a woman with a man who is addicted to porn. Women are still considered the lesser of the species in our culture, and porn helps men perpetuate this and feel superior to their women. Men who have to look at porn are insecure idiots.

      Try being a man that's with a woman that's addicted to romance novels. Poor guy can never live up to those male heroes and won't even know how to begin if he even realized that was who he was being compared to, all he knows is that somehow, for some reason he just doesn't measure up in her eyes.

      While I would agree that porn can set up some unrealistic expectations of what sex is like to the men that watch it, having even passing real experience should show him the difference between fantasy (porn) and reality (that frigid bitch sleeping next to him), so I doubt except for teenage boys porn is just an escape from the real life situation he's found himself involved in.
