Do you consider adults who watch anime childish?

Anime is just animated series from Japan. There are some animated series that are for children, others for adults. Saying that an adult who watches shows like Elfen Lied is childish is like saying someone who watches South Park is childish.

Not really. Any kind of "fanboyism" or "fangirlism" seems kind of childish to me (not that all anime watchers are "fanboys" or "fangirls"), but being a little bit childish isn't exactly a bad thing. Children are cute and fun and uncynical, so I definitely don't mean that comparison insultingly. So long as liking anime isn't the be-all and end-all of your personality, you're fine.

Not at all. I consider childish the people who say that things can only be enjoyed at a certain age and then seek to enforce that.

No not really. Childish and unintelligent definitely wouldn't be what I call an adult who's obsessed with anime. I would view them the same way that I would an adult who has a bunch of football memorabilia, including sports rings, wallpapers, and a whole room devoted entirely to the sport. I would find them weird essentially, depending on how they look, act, and why they're into it my opinion might change. Initially though I would think of them as weird, but that's because I associate anime to be something associated with teens and young adults.

Also, I enjoy Anime. I watch Anime targeted for 13-17 year olds. Is it childish? I don't give a fuck. It's funny. The world's shitty enough without dickheads going around judging people for the shows they watch because it doesn't fit their expectations of how someone "should behave". It depends on what they are watching. If they are watching an anime for kids then of course it's childish, but if they are watching an anime for adults maybe teenagers then it's not childish.

Actually, it's quite the opposite. There are a lot of anime with mature themes and complex stories.

I don't, but even if it is considered childish, who cares? It's fun to act and be childish sometimes.

There are many Anime films with very adult narratives. Then there are ones intended for children that adults can enjoy. Most have the most incredible visuals I simply view people who like them as having an appreciation of art in the film medium.

It's not specifically anime, it's cartoons in general. A guy asked me what my favorite TV show was, I said Spongebob. He proceeded to scoff, wondering why I wasn't watching stupid soap operas.
