I trust my leaders about as far as I could throw them.

People don't want the truth. Sometimes it is easier to believe a lie.

As for the trust in our leaders, it is good to remember Animal Farm by Orwell. His main character Napoleon does not symbolize only stalinism but also our modern leaders. In fact, one part of Animal Farm can be applied also to September 11 - do you remember how Snowball was accused of the destruction of windmill? This is my personal opinion on what happened with the destruction of Twins as well. Pigs are everywhere:)

    Hell no.

People don't realize just how powerful our intelligence agencies are. And that's all I will say.

    • Its really not just the intelligence agencies its the enormity of government in and of itself right now.

In all ways "government" can be described or defined.

Our government has connections with virtually every man, woman, child and tree on this Earth.

        If I weren't a complete nobody, I'd say that it's a little scary.

I really don't know. But I think anyone who says they do know is either a liar, or a very high-ranking member of security/government.

What I would say, though, is that neither Communism or Islam has ever been a serious threat to Americanism. It suits your government to unite people in fear, just like it suits opposing governments to unite their people in fear of the American threat. A lot of crap is spoken on both sides.

Of course! Some cave dwellers in the Middle East managed to fly two planes into the most heavily defended country in history, without so much as ONE fighter plane trying to intercept them. What sounds far fetched about that?

  • I have always wondered about this. The majority think that we were not told the truth (including me), yet nobody does anything about it. Quite sad when I think about it.

Honestly don't know. I've sort of heard both sides and have seem some things, but never felt like researching it myself.

If not a conspiracy, it's certainly a fantastic example of disaster capitalism. They're still milking that for all it's worth, using these terrorist threats to pass the Patriot Act, the NDAA, need I go on?

Whether or not they caused it, the government used it to their advantage.

  • All that matters is it worked, the more dead Americans the better.

Well we saw the two airplanes crash into those buildings didn't we? Was it americans who attacked themselves? Killing themselves for so to blame others for it? There are alot theories but i believe truth has already been told.

I found a lot of the conspiracy theories interesting and plausible and tried to discuss them with other people and I was surprised how many people would not even entertain the idea.

I dont think that they are telling the story how it is but it fit like a puzzle and after what happened with so many people diying how could someone look the other way? I believe them to an extent but I do have a feeling that part of it is bias. Our goverment is so corrupt, I'd rather not believe them yet I'll just nod and keep my doubts to myself.

News facts are always filtered. Sometimes by the media itself, sometimes by the government. Most of the times by both.

I won't go as far as saying 9/11 was a conspiracy, but there were probably some inaccuracies in the report.

No. But I seriously doubt there was any crazy conspiracy. I think we know all the facts we need to know, and while I'm sure there's a hell of a lot we don't know I'm sure the intelligence agencies have good reason for keeping it secret (intelligence isn't intelligence if everybody knows you've got it).

If you're asking whether it was caused by the government of not, I'll say I don't think it was. I think what we are told about it being caused by terrorists from the Middle East is entirely true (although the "fact" that it was caused by Iraq isn't).

It just seems like the OP doesn't want comments as they would lead to a discussion.
