I think it's somewhere between "Not the Biblical Jesus, but a Jesus that bears no real resemblance to him anymore" and yes. Personally the miracles and that seem like mythology, but I'm studying Ancient History and Classical Archaeology, and there was most certainly a Jew around at that time who was a preacher, and he must have done something quite incredible, whether it was being a great orator or whatever is a guess, but he was good enough at what he did to spawn a new religion which gained a lot of supplicants in a short time.
