I am an atheist and I would never nullify what other people believe in (except if religious people sound obnoxious and closed minded)
I believe that praying helps but it's not because any of the deities "answered" the prayer. I believe it helps because you are actually talking about what bothers or ails you and thus lifting off a huge burden from your shoulders. If you choose to connect your prayer to a god, then more power to you. Keep your faith strong and positive things will eventually happen. If your mindset is right
I didn't necessarily say I believe in god, but maybe I should have wrote that in my post, it seems to be everyone's focus, oops!
Sometimes I believe in something but other times I don't believe in anything. I've never read the bible or gone to a church other than for bible school and even then it was mostly food and game oriented. Just naturally as a child I made up my own explanation for things and god was kind of like my invisible friend, which really I guess that's all god really is.
Do you believe prayer helps?
