People keep going on about perspective, no good and evil etc etc.. well thats obvious, thats not what the discussion here is about! its about whether or not if the term evil were to be used in a sense that it is either a very real state of mind or within the action itself.. or whther the state of mind at its essence is the evil causing the act....................... this is all just bullshit really but its nice to see people getting chatty over such a..delusional(?) subject. Almost like when you have a good discussion with a seriously religious person - the only way you can have one is by admitting hypothetically that all their beliefs are true BUT then pointing out the flaws withing their own beliefs and showing them how they contradict themselves.. thats the only way you can "win" .. if you care for such things... no point just goin " your wrong, your god is not real"
Well ok its not so much about the act its about why they committed the act. If a person kills someone since they believe they hurt their loved one they did it defending someone.
If someone kills someone so they could rape their dead corpse well yeah this person is sick and deranged. Its not so much actions which determine if a person is bad. Its why they committed these actions to begin with.
If someone murders another person who is trying to kill them or their family its not evil they were defending themselves. If someone kills their loving wife since they wanted the inheritance fund well clearly they are bad people.
If Hitler thought he was doing good for his people maybe he had good intentions. He could have also just been using this as a way to become leader of all the german people. So it depends on the reasoning behind the actions.
In the movie "The Mist" the man kills the old people they were with, his son and his wife. He did it since he thought they were going to be eaten by monsters and wanted them not to suffer. That was out of mercy not any bad intentions but they were not eaten and the monsters did not get him. Ironically help showing up minutes after he killed them all.
There is a old saying that would fit this in fact. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". If the intention is good the result might not be. However the intention is what determines if the person themselves are in fact good people or not.
If someone has abnormal logic. Like they believe setting a tree on fire will save the cat stuck in the tree but ends up just killing the cat that person is insane. They are not really bad since their intention was to save the cat and failed miserably.
This is bullshit, I meant to thumb you down and pressed thumbs up on accident. IIN really needs to fix this flaw. Anyway just so you know, you're close minded self should be at ZERO right now.
:) you sound like such a moron. Everything you just said did not actually make any sense what so ever - you say you clicked the wrong button and then say its the websites fault? I'm sure you mean closed minded.. and no reason given for why? nice... you truly know how to structure an argumentative criticism.
I didnt say it was the websites fault I clicked the wrong button you fuckin idiot, what I said was they needed to fix this flaw. The flaw I'm referring to, is clicking the wrong button and then not being able to undo it to click the right one. Most other websites let you correct this if you happen to miss and click the wrong option. Two thumbs down for your stupidity.
my stupidity? you automatically assume i should understand exactly what you are talking about when you skipped out some important details ? how is it idiotic of me to assume that you are just one of the many people on this site who lack a decent collection of working braincells...
If you're as smart as you try so desperately to portray yourself as, it shouldn't have been hard to come to that conclusion, but since you immediately assumed one thing you ended up making an ass out of yourself. See what happens when you ASSume?
hehehe ASSume, my my you're a riot. I apologise for assuming the wrong thing, though that doesnt make me stupid in any sense, just shows that i tend to look at things from a different perspective compared to most, and don't always ASSume the regular. How in any way am i desperately trying to portray myself as "smart"? There does not have to be any desperation about it, it just comes naturally to me seeing as i am pretty fucking smart, i mean being in the top 2 percentile of the western worlds population (according to Mensa) when it comes to intelligence quotation has to count for something?
And this is not me gloating, just me saying that if i wanted to portray myself as "smart" then i wouldn't have to try so desperately as you seem to think.... yoou Peeeenarse! :)
Do you believe people are evil or the acts people commit are evil?
