  • Well ok its not so much about the act its about why they committed the act. If a person kills someone since they believe they hurt their loved one they did it defending someone.

If someone kills someone so they could rape their dead corpse well yeah this person is sick and deranged. Its not so much actions which determine if a person is bad. Its why they committed these actions to begin with.

If someone murders another person who is trying to kill them or their family its not evil they were defending themselves. If someone kills their loving wife since they wanted the inheritance fund well clearly they are bad people.

If Hitler thought he was doing good for his people maybe he had good intentions. He could have also just been using this as a way to become leader of all the german people. So it depends on the reasoning behind the actions.

In the movie "The Mist" the man kills the old people they were with, his son and his wife. He did it since he thought they were going to be eaten by monsters and wanted them not to suffer. That was out of mercy not any bad intentions but they were not eaten and the monsters did not get him. Ironically help showing up minutes after he killed them all.

There is a old saying that would fit this in fact. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". If the intention is good the result might not be. However the intention is what determines if the person themselves are in fact good people or not.

If someone has abnormal logic. Like they believe setting a tree on fire will save the cat stuck in the tree but ends up just killing the cat that person is insane. They are not really bad since their intention was to save the cat and failed miserably.
