YOLO, as in it's original meaning: You only have one life, so take care of it and don't ruin it by doing stupid things.

    • What I'm hearing is,

You only have one life, so you better do as many stupid things as you can get away with.

        That's what the kids say.

        • I have never heard a child say that, but I will forgive your curious oversight in lieu of your being conditioned to say that.

          However,

Sheeple people have no real ability to comment on life, only the safety of their complicit rhetoric. You don't challenge existence at all, so there is no point of you existing. You are cowards, and you are swine.

That really depends on the definition of a "child".

And just because I don't run in front of a train while crying "YOLO, bitches!", that doesn't mean I don't challenge my life or that I'm a coward. I'd say that I am the exact opposite of that. But I don't feel the need to remove myself from the gene pool earlier than it is necessary.

I believe YOLO is the most annoying phrase ever

I think it becomes annoying when people say it constantly like..."I'm eating coffee ice cream...YOLO!!!" "Or I've never seen this show....YOLO!" Just annoying. It's good in cases such as skydiving or bunny jumping....something that truly is unique and special in ones life.

  • I believe people that say it should be hanged...But hold on, let me do a well thought out test. Be back in a few.

...Ok, I'm back. I have deducted from my findings that you indeed only live once, and that once you die, you do not come back from the dead.

I believe in the sentiment of the expression, which has been around for far longer than the acronym. It's good to remind yourself that time is a limitation on us mere mortals, that we should make the most of it, overcome our fears and experience life fully.

I can't stand when people say YOLO though (unless it's satirical) - what's wrong with actually saying "You only live once"? In similar news, I find people saying LOL irritating. I WAS LIKE LOL! YOLO!

Well, considering the fact that I was saying the actual phrase before it became a popular internet meme, I'll say yes.

I do believe that we only have one life, I do not believe that we should squander our life on dangerous things just because it might end soon.

A better saying would be 'Make today count', don't waste your time, try and achieve one thing each day, however small.

It's true that you only live once. But valid arguments can be made for various philosophical points stemming from the phrase.

I don't understand why it's become an entity or something with a certain type of cachet or mystique. More to the point, why it's become an excuse.

    Stabbed a giraffe today. YOLO.

You can't YOLO your way out of responsibility.

Also, it's used pointlessly. It's like me ending every tweet with "Things occur". The more obvious the essential truth in a statement, the less it needs to be reaffirmed.

I don't know why people hate this phrase. I mean, it's true isn't it? Is it just because of the people who used it, or something?

You've lived before and you'll live once you leave this dimension...and so forth.
This is a multidimensional multiverse; you live simultaneously along many lines of "time"...time and time and time again.
Hence the recollection of past lives many have.
    Enlighten yourself, dear Earthling.

I usually say that one only gets one go around, but yolo says it too.
I grabbed the golden ring with both hands at 12 and still haven't let go. Suffice it to say, I've had a fantastic go around so far and it's not over just yet.
I got to work for some of the greatest rock n roll bands in history, got to sail around the world, visit hundreds of countries and bed hundreds of wonderful women.
I've rarely been sick, had little tragedy and a whole lot of fun in this life and have few regrets.
I wouldn't trade one moment of THIS life for the all the promises of another, afterwards. Fuck ALL religions that do!
