It does not matter whether or not I BELIEVE in it.

It always floors me that this question is even debated in 2010.
Earth is not the center of the universe, it's not flat, it revolves around the sun, air has mass, men do not carry babies in sperm, the universe is not 6000 years old, and evolution is absolutely proven beyond any doubt. If you do not accept that, at least be consistant and believe I'm wrong on all of those other points. If you're gullible, be completely gullible.

a) you don't understand evolution

b) you don't understand what is meant by evolution

i've talked with so many super religious people and they all say they don't believe in evolution and then go and describe the evolutionary process when i ask them how they think things came to be what they are.

Evolution is fact. The precise details of it, including some of the ideas postulated by Darwin, are theory.

We see the effect of evolution around us everyday. If there were no evolution, there would be no AIDS, no Ebola virus, no common cold, no Mersa.

Most of the dingalings that say evolution isn't real say that because their religious beliefs require them to believe the universe is only 6,000 years old. We know that isn't true because we can measure light from 6 billion years ago.

People who refuse to believe something that is actual fact have some kind of problem.

It's nothing more than a theory and there isn't anything to "believe in". Most people alive today think it is fact because it is taught as fact, when it hasn't gone past the theory stage, and I think it never will. As with all science, it is never fact till proven fact.

And yes, I believe in evolution, even though it's just a theory, but plenty of things are theories because they can't be proven *cough*creationism*cough*

does it really matter? if the religious people are right then when they die they will go off to whatever place they believe in if it is real. if evolutionists are right then no one is going to care coz when they die they wont be going nowhere. i dont think it matters how we got here or why were here it only matters what you do when you are here. so forget tryingt o figure it out and just live!

I checked 'yes'. I think I believe in evolution. I belong to a church that definitely doesn't, but I do not see eye-to-eye with them on very much at all. Like the thing about Jesus dying on the cross to save mankind from something called "sin" just makes no sense to me at all.

I'm not even sure there ever was any such person as Jesus anyhow. Oahspe says he was made up at the Council of Nice from the lives of several different people. (And Kriste was a false god in the lower heavens that started a false religion called Kriste'yanity, later changed to Christianity.) Oahspe also says that evolution is false, but I don't believe that part; I think it is true.

Now the Urantia Book says evolution IS true, but has a bunch of stuff about Jesus being a reincarnated space person, named Michael of Nebadon, but at least it denies that he came to earth to die as a sacrifice to save man from "sin". There is so much junk out there, that one hardly knows what to believe.

But I do know that the Bible contains many, many contradictions. If you don't believe this, go to google and type in Bible contradictions, and just see what comes up. It contains many mistakes and errors as well, and some statements that are just absurd, and much that is obscene, and a LOT of attrocities some of which are just sooooo disgusting!

I have read some of Darwin's book On the Origin of Species. Of course, today many new theories have replaced a lot of his original thinking. Just the basic theory still remains in acceptance. He was not the first person to suggest a theory of evolution, tho he is sometimes credited as such. The idea goes back at least to the ancient Greeks. I know Lucretius wrote of it thousands of years ago, and I believe so did Aristotle. The book "THE NAKED APE" by Desmond Morris shows that human behavior is very, very simular to that of the apes. I read this book a couple of times. It makes a lot of sense to me.

All things change slightly to adapt but evolution takes it too far. Humans were genetically engineered plain and simple.
