    Since spouses can leave and no longer be a relative, but one's kids are relatives forever, I believe the commitment to one's kids is stronger.

      Blood relations are irrelevant. You don't automatically love a child because you helped create it.

            Can you actually qualify how much you love someone or put that love on a scale? I can't. So I answered as best I could.

        Yes, actually, most people, automatically love their child because they helped create it. All except the assholes of the world.
