Do unnecessary abbreviations drive anyone else insane?

At first it was just an annoyance because simple messages were confusing, now it feels like an epidemic. Everything has to be shortened for no particular reason but sheer laziness. I couldn't even read the terms of service here because now the brilliant thing to do is cloud simple communication with alphabet soup by calling it the TOS. Jesus Christ. Yeah, it's gotten to the point that I can't read things that have abbreviations because it's just so disgusting to me that simple phrases like "terms of service" are too much fucking work for people.

So I just need to know, is this really abrasive to anyone else? Am I the last person on earth who likes to actually communicate halfway decently?

    Most abbreviations are fine and are pretty much just common sense to what they are referring to. I've never heard anyone be confused as to what a TOS is.

    I think most are unnecessary and used to be lazy. I’m not particularly fond of it myself but occasionally will use “wtf”, “idk” or “af”
