I measure by putting the ruler on the top of my shaft and measure from base (where my dick meets my body) to the tip. Don't push the ruler in because you'll give yourself extra length and just lie to yourself. Lol

It's not just length that is important though, just like the size of a womans breasts is not the only important thing - their overall shape and proportions are also important.
