This is another area of concern. I have heard of cases where underage teens are ending up on the sex offenders' register for production and distribution of child pornography when all they did was take nude selfies and 'sext' them.
OK, then just go by the conviction (a fact) and stop assuming that the offenders didn't deserve what they got (speculation). You can't exactly cry 'speculation' and then speculate yourself. If you want to go on facts and not speculation then be consistent.
Well, this is where the underlying psychological impulses start to be revealed. The issue is whether individuals are mature enough to understand the consequences of their actions and therefore be held accountable for them. And we see a lot of 'special pleading' in the case of sex. In at least one state in the USA the difference between the age of criminal responsibility and the age of consent is 11 years; a child of 7 can be held responsible for criminal acts and yet will not be deemed mature enough to make decisions about sexual activity with a partner until 18. And then when they turn 18 and can legally have sex for the first time, they are also deemed mature enough to decide to be in a porn film, but they're still 3 years off being mature enough to have a beer.
Do sex offenders deserve a second chance?

Depends, once in my school a little kid was expelled for grabbing a girl's tits.

Not typically unless there was more at play. Let's be honest here.

Yeah, let's not speculate that a criminal case probably has some nuance to it.

It may well have a nuance to it. We don't know, and I'm not in the business of peddling ad ingoratiums.

That's fucking stupid in my opinion, I think underage teens shouldn't be charged with that until they are 18.
