Girls who are with "bad" guys I think are attracted to their dominance, protectiveness, and confidence. But I'm sure they don't like his mean side. Nice guys aren't assertive (not being mean and forceful though) in getting a girl, that's why they have trouble. When girls say they want a nice guy they really do, but the reason they so often don't pick them is because the "bad" guy is generally the one who shows he's going to take control in a situation such as protecting her and be the man.
