The major problem with the USA is that the majority of the population believes in USA#1 A tag that has been invented by politicians, advertisers, army leaders and religious leaders. The idea of superiority is so deep rooted that there is a term for it - ‘merica.
You cannot change a problem, social, cultural or anything else if you believe that the problem does not exist in the first place. This misconception is nurtured by the people in power. They exploit the population to their advantage. Considering the USA is a developed first world country you have a big under educated population who struggle to make ends meet every month. You also have a lot of neglected elderly people living below the poverty line.
A good way to keep them ‘under’ is to feed them bullshit that their way of life is not just acceptable but is the way ‘freedom’ works (the land of the free). If a child constantly gets praise from his parents and told he is the best at everything he does he won’t ever make progress. He will just love his parents. There are many things wrong with the USA, healthcare, education, elderly population living under poverty line, medieval religious beliefs, financial disparity, gun laws, misuse of military, the president etc. but things aren’t going to change anytime soon because the people are convinced that everything is fine. So they wave their flags , tote their guns, tell everyone how great the USA is and continue to love their government despite the fact that their government is populated by sociopaths who will lie, cheat and even kill to achieve their means. The only people the USA really benefits are rich old white men. Everyone else has been duped.
But yeah we all wanna come there right! Keep telling yourself that hon.
Im not saying YOU want to come here but millions of immigrants sure do. You can talk about old white men but pretty much anybody of any color, especially women, are better off here than in many countries i dont feel like naming. Were far from perfect but im glad i wasnt born in pakistan or saudi arabia or somalia.
I do think plenty can be done to improve things. Dtop funding the military so much for one.
