  • Sounds about right.

Came across the funniest sign last weekend. Huuuuge Trump 2020 billboard at a construction business, and under it said, "Let Trump be Trump!"

Firstly, who exactly is stopping him? And secondly, isn't that the fucking problem? Haha. Fuckin Georgia...

    • It's a demonstration of the snowflake mythology of the Trumpist right: they need to believe that, rather than them and their lickspittle allies firmly gripping the levers of power, they're the victims. Minnie Donnie's book was the same: he whines all the way through about how the evil lefties aren't allowing him to speak while he's just published a book, he's on a nationwide promotional tour and he's constantly all over the media, and meanwhile his demented fool of a windbag father never fucking shuts up for a moment.

It's all taken straight from the first chapter of Authoritarian Government for Dummies: "Find an enemy. If you don't have one, manufacture one. Keeping your supporters focused on fighting this enemy will prevent them from noticing your shortcomings as a leader. Even if many of the aims of the enemy you've created align with the best interests of your supporters, they will remain loyal to you if you repeatedly demonise your enemy and have no qualms about lying about them."

    • It suddenly becomes a problem with this hyper biased impeachment where the only non partisan support was trying to counter the impeachment vote.

Bernie is now a misogynist. Warren is a snake in the grass.
And biden... is a lost cause.

            • She likes to belittle me like that. I've been outside of the USA in my service in the USN. I've decided America itself is the best system. She just bitterly rejects any viewpoint other than her own. Not unlike most far leftists.

              • I, too, was stationed abroad while in the USN. During that time, I decided that, on balance, the positives of life in Britain outweighed the negatives of American culture and life in the USA, and I've never returned to the country of my birth.

While I was in the service, I met a lot of jingoistic, brainwashed, blinkered yahoos who were incapable of seeing the USA - and the role they played as a tiny cog in the American military machine - with any degree of objectivity.

I have no idea what criteria you've used to judge the America as "the best". If you believe that the percentage of citizens a country imprisons, the amount of waste a country produces per capita, the amount spent on the military, the value of weapon exports, the rate of neonatal fatalities, the cost of prescription drugs and the cost of medical care in general, the number of calories consumed per day per person and a high rate of income inequality are all a case of "the more, the better", then the USA is indeed the greatest country in the world.

Unlike the straw-man leftists you believe in, I can see positive things about the fundamental aspirational ideals of the USA that every American kid is taught in grade school, but any adult who believes America is a shining city on the hill is fucking delusional. Believing the USA has a God-given right and duty to use its economic and military might to force other countries to emulate its system is downright evil.

              • I would be interested to know which item in O.P's list is imaginary because they are all very real.
