Do long distance relationships work?

It's almost impossible to accurately answer questions like this considering that distance is only one factor amongst many in any given relationship and to judge the success rate of a relationship based on one factor is ludacris.

They can do. I think it depends upon the people, though, and what they want and expect.

Dear whoever you are, I've been there and done that as well, but I'm not going to tell you whether it worked for me or not, because this has to do with you two only, not me and certainly, not everyone who has tried long-distance relationships. Of course it's encouraging to hear that it can work, but on the other hand, who is he or she to tell you that it can or it can't? Only you have a vote in this because you know yourself and him or her better than us. It's all a matter of character and the feelings you have for each other. Don't reject someone just because someone else told you that "long-distance relationships can't work". If you never try yourself, you will never know!
