Do liberals and minorities have a legal right to assault you for wearing maga hat if you're in a liberal city, and if you fight back will you go to jail?

Reason I ask is this happened near my town recently, someone knock a maga hat off a guy's head (hitting the back of his head) and the guy punched him in the face or something and got arrested.

IDGAF what hat anyone is wearing. if Person A taps any hat off someones head and Person B hits the guy in the face

Person B goes to jail every time. or should at least.

Now if person A really does hit person B's head with some force when he knocks the hat off then it's a little different, but even still it does not warrant a response of Kicking the shit out of the fuck. You tell a guy like that to fuck off, pick up your hat and move on with your day

You say Guy 1 knocked the cap off by hitting the guy's head. Did you actually witness the event, or is your understanding of what happened based on what you've read somewhere about what MAGA-guy claimed to have happened? Think about it: if you wanted to remove a baseball cap from someone's head, would you hit the guy upside the head or would you just grab or flick the bill of the cap?

Even if the cap was removed by sorta slapping the back of the Trumper's head, a punch in the face was a disproportionate response.

Clearly Guy 1 was in the wrong. People have the right to wear badges that proclaim they're a gullible fool if they want, and the civilised response to that is to ignore them.

      Knocking a hat off is borderline assault. When I was going to college in Louisiana a police officer told me that if someone just touched me, and I didn't want that person to touch me it would be assault, and I'm fine with that definition!

        Harrassment is harrassment regardless of whomever is the object of said harassment. It's a sign of poor character when people have double standards for those they do not like. Nobody has the right to assault you and you are free to protect yourself and your belongings.

You could be wearing a hat with the confederate flag, or even one that says "Fuck off"... It's your hat, you're paid for with your own money and nobody has the right to take it from you, or damage it. Feel free to protect it. This is self defense.
