Do i have to wear my speedo to go swimming?

My sister gave it to me because she thought it would help me to get over being shy, but I feel embarrassed just looking at it.

Is It Normal?

    Are you a French, Italian or German male between the ages of 23 and 99? If you are, then the Speedo is definitely the required swimwear to make you look effeminate and silly.
    I honestly don't think I've ever met a woman who finds a male in a Speedo attractive, and we see quite a few down this way (it actually does come up in conversation, when we do see someone wearing one).

      Australia has a prime minister who wears one: I wouldn't call him effeminate (in fact I won't start on the adjectives which could describe him or I'll be here all day and none of them will be positive) but he certainly looks silly

        Long ago, I wore speedos for lap swimming down under. Australian women have no problem staring at guys crotches to check out his package. As a guy, you get used to the attention rather quickly and tune it out just like all the other guys do.

    Depends what you mean by 'swimming'.

    If you mean swimming many laps in a pool for fitness then it's great to wear them as they help streamline you as you swim.

    If by 'swimming' you mean jumping in a body of water to fool around and cool down ditch them.

            Whenever I think of budgie smugglers I imagine that little bird curled up in there with those sharp feet, beak and claws. You know what birds do in enclosed spaces. Ouch!

              I dunno, I just like the love birdies! I'd rather see the actually birdie with the beak and claws than the stupid pink trouser snake any day of the week. I can enjoy life without ever laying eyes on some guy's shlong, but not without seeing and hearing the cute little birds.

    You don't have to, but if your sister was really trying to help you become more confident I would at least wear it around the house, in the yard, ect. Once you've become comfortable in that environment you may consider wearing it swimming in public. Girls, don't seem to have this problem as society expects them to wear next to nothing swimming, but we don't expect that of men. If you feel uncomfortable, take a look at what your sister is wearing and consider if it's any less revealing.

    wear what you feel comfortbale with.

    p.s yes i find it normal for shy people to be embarrass by that also you should of ask is it normal to feel shy not do i have to

    Sounds like your sister wants you to wear it around HER, so that you get over your shyness with her. If so, she is right. Being afraid to wear a speedo around a sister makes you way too inhibited to be normal. Eventually you might even consider having her help you put it on.
