Do i have dyslexia

  • No that doesn't mean you have dyslexia. A lot of people when they aren't really paying attention read something completely different from what it actually was, I've done that. Dyslexia is more when you have trouble reading or learning words because all the words jumble around so say it says 'I like books' to someone with dyslexia it may read 'I eikl okobs.' Though that is only one example, there is a possibility, you have dyslexia but my guess is no you don't, but when in doubt get tested.
    When I was in grade one I spelled every one the words exactly right but backwards. So my parents had me tested for dyslexia, I didn't have dyslexia, turned out I had ADHD.

    • However, let it be known that dyslexia is a very broad spectrum. I myself have it and have no issues with words being jumbled or anything like that. It's more to do with learning foreign languages and handwriting, in my case.

      • Yes I know that that's why I said 'though that is only one example'. I know that there is no one specific definition of any disability. The jumbled words is sort of the stereotypical thought when someone here's dyslexia, just like when people hear ADHD they think hyper, can't sit still, etc. but for me it was more racing thoughts and having trouble spelling.
