Men value: virility, youth, health
Women value: men with resources or the potential for resources.
Of course, today's modern world allows us to chose mates based on other characteristic traits, so you will find variations of these values in most societies and cultures.
I completely agree. I think it is part of our animal traits. Men are predisposed to prefer females that can survive to many pregnancies and take care of their offspring. Women are predisposed to prefer a male that can provide the resorces for this task.
