Disrespectful to pagans

I believe people wearing pentagrams that are not pagens are being very disrespectful. When i ask them if they'er solitarey or do they have a covern and they say they'er not even Pagan. this fills me with rage. Especially when they wear back and act really dark. they send the wrong message about pagans.

Is it normal?

I'm pagan and I wear a lot of black. I was raised Pagan and It does irritate me when I see people wearing Pentagrams without knowing the meaning. I also hate it when people think we are devil worshipers because we use them. One more thing I hate it the fact that the Christians are using our holidays as their own (Christmas is one example) It's freaking Yule! I'm proud to say I am Pagan born and raised ^_^

P.S. I'm with you on the holiday thing. Easter is another one that bugs me. It's Ostara. But at least we have Samhain.

First off, Pagans don't where pentagrams. They wear Pentacles. Pentagrams are used in Satanic rituals. (though they can be used in pagan rituals, depending on the spell/ritual) And, most don't call themselves pagans. These days, the term "Wiccan" is used, meaning Witch.

Pentacles are a right side up star, while the pentagram is an upside down star. There is a big difference between the two.

Don't confuse a pagan with a satanist. Athiest are people that don't believe in the existence of any higher being. Pagans/wiccans worship and god and a goddess. (there are many of them) While satanist usually worship the devil. Both of these religions are deeply misunderstood. Most satanist don't even worship the devil.

I've studied Paganism for 5 years now, and I've done research on Satanism a couple times so I could get past the common misconceptions of the religion.

I admit, that yes, there are going to be those poser people that wear he stars to be different and to push people away. It's best to just leave them alone. Eventually they will realize that what they are doing is stupid. Not everyone is a poser though. You just have to find the real ones.

I'm not a goth/emo, but I wera a lot of black clothes, sometimes they have skulls on, or something that means pain or death.

Lots of people do this. Does it make us posers?

    No.

Maybe we like that sort of thing?

The people with pentagrams may just really like them, they probably aren't posers.

Posers piss me off too. I have not seen a real goth in....damn not ever at school or a mall. For one, if anyone says theyre goth, theyre a poser. If someone says theyre a pagan caus they dont believe in god, theyre a poser, etc. Also who says pagan? i thought it was athiest or satanist or something XP

You have posers in everything. There will always be those who wear things they don't understand just to fit in with others or appear as something they aren't. I suppose I would be angry also only then I would realize that it makes no difference to me what other people do to raise their ego. You know what it stands for to you, there is no need to get bent out of shape at the benefit of some moron with a goth fettish.

I have to agree with you as well. What others do matters little to me as long as it is not a targeted disgrace. You know, like burning crosses and such.
