My dad was homeless for a few years before he got married. No kidding. Because of that, many habits became a part of him. For example, if he is to change a light bulb that's above the diner table, he'll step on the table with his shoes on and change it (he's perfectly capable of doing this while someone is eating, stepping right next to their dish). You look at him like, "dad, really?" and he looks back at you like "hum, what is it now?". He's really lost every notion of hygiene. Also, he became extremely paranoid about thieves. Like, if he's fixing some device outdoors and one little screw is to roll a few feet away, he'll immediately say "damn it! someone must have walked by and picked it up while we were looking away!". No matter the value of what's missing, he knows he would have picked it up in his day, so he assumes anyone else would also do it.
I love him still, you know. Nobody's perfect.
No. I think a few of my other family members have on my mother's side have. The only one I can think of got caught trying to bring drugs in over the border. One of the kids my aunt used to be a foster mom to was "rumored" to be a drug dealer. I'm not sure if he ever went to jail, but if he did I probably would have heard about it.
My bio dad but it doesn't matter to me. I didn't even know what he looked like til I was in my twenties and my mom found some old pictures. Good guy. Lied about taking his guns on the honeymoon and my mom got the gift of a strip search at the border. That's nothing in the scope of his deeds though.
