Did yall get what you wanted for the holidays’?
What you wanted doesn't have to be tangible materialistic items, but it could be. Just want to know what yall wanted and whether or not you got it.

Yes. My narcissistic aunt didn't come and ruin the day, and my nice aunt made her potato salad, and my anti vax aunt can't come visit cos of covi restrictions between states.
It's probably the most pleasant Christmas we ever had, even though I had a headache the entire day.
First off - Happy Christmas!
My girlfriend bought me the game Cyberpunk 2077 on my Steam account. I thought it was hilarious, cause my computer doesn't cover the minimum specs.
On the plus side... when I buy a new computer, I will have a legal version of the game that will be patched and fixed, so that's nice. She was happy with her gift too.
I told my parents I didn't want any gifts as gifts are expensive and my mom and dad are pensioners. I said coming home and seeing them is the best gift for me and my dad making homemade "Babek" (Bulgarian delicacy). They agreed and they didn't get me any gifts... instead they paid the taxes for my cars for 2021. All of them! Told me they knew my business was shut down again and I was losing money, so they wanted to help out a little, as it's what parents do.
I didn't know how to react to this. It was a mix between very grateful, a bit angry and their act of kindness just supercharged my self hate. Felt like absolute trash for getting them small things they wanted from a few months back... (sowing stuff you can only get in Germany and a nice cutting board for my mom) and fancy Pike bait for my dad (Again not available in Bulgaria).
They were happy, but I wasn't. Man, I do not wish self hate on anyone... you'd think I'd be happy. But here I am well past midnight, again, in the living room, drinking whiskey and contemplating.
Thats hilariously cute. a few years ago or more, my EX bought me 5 Nights at Freddy's but accidentally bought the PC download version off of steam (only had my mac at the time). Now that I have built my own PC, I COULD play it if I wanted to.
I know that feeling. thats why I don't allow myself to sit and contemplate, lest I drag myself into a sad state of depression.
Yeah... Christmas always does bring out the worst of my depression and self hate.
Parents getting older, feeling like you haven't done anything, even if you have.
On a more positive note - she knew I wanted the game, cause I watched trailers for it and stuff, but she never thought that a 7 year old laptop just won't do with the new games. Not to mention every new game seems to require at least 50-100GB of free space. You could fill up a hard drive with 6-7 AAA games.
Anyway, have a good night (or day, depending where you are)
Happy Christmas! I did - some adorable merch of videogames I like, a great quality headset, some extremely useful practical presents, snacks, vodka, and money! My family know me very well!
Unfortunately, despite planning ahead, some of my family's presents haven't arrived yet. Damnit! Thankfully they know about the post situation and don't mind waiting.
Hell yea man. Stayed inside all day, slept in. Ate some mediocre ham but I know how to spice it up. It was free so no complaints. Got my computer set up how I want now to get the bloody gpu so I can build the fucker. Place eaned up. Looks like I killed the last of the gnats that invaded my home and just overall yea. Good day
The Occulus VR headset we got for my daughter surprised her and she's very happy with it, so that counts as a win in my book.
She's never expressed any interest in having one, but it appeared as a suggestion on my Amazon page a few weeks ago, and I thought it looked interesting.
Also, we didn't spend Christmas with my mother-in-law for the first time in thirteen years, so that was very good too.
It isn't really a Christmas present, but we're due to get a new car in less than two weeks, and I've realised that I'm feeling a little like I did when I was a kid and Christmas was approaching. Cars have never thrilled me, but it will replace one I've had for nearly twenty years and it will be the best car by far that I've ever owned.
Yes, though I still have a couple of more family Christmases to go to (we have a big family)!
I recently purchased my first home, and got lots of stuff for it for Christmas! Lots of dishes, silverware and cookware, a nice TV, some towels, etc. I also have family wanting to give me a bunch of furniture they are looking to upgrade from or have had in storage, so that is exciting!
