Did this hand holding incident mean anything do you think?

I was over at my friends once and we were hanging out watching a movie in the garage with her older brother.
We were 16 years old at the time
We were very close and that time I was kinda lightly tickling her legs and while we were laying down she wrapped a few of her fingers onto my thumb. It was so cute and I left my hand for a bit then I grabbed her hand and held it for a while. I'm not sure if she liked that, she did leave her hand for a bit but then took it away so idk if I made her feel uncomfortable or not?

There were many times I wanted to hold her hand but I didn't because I was afraid she wouldn't like it or thought I was weird?

The odd time if she wanted me to go somewhere she'd grab my hand but not holding it properly just lightly.
I always felt so shy about this..

    I see absolutely nothing wrong with girls holding hands at any age! My roommate and I are both 19 and always are holding hands anytime we are together! Don't feel shy, just be you!

    How long ago was "we were 16 at the time"? If it was back in 1956 I would say you made her feel uncomfortable. If it was last year, I would say she doesn't have the same feelings as you do.

      No it definitely wasn't that long ago at all.

      A few years ago now

      Wouldn't it be more likely for her to have feelings if it was just last year though since LGBT has become more acceptable as well as more common?

        No it wouldn't. Since LGBGTQXYZ, if she pulled away I would say she doesn't have the same feelings for you that you want. Especially if she is aware that your are leaning on the L side.

          Also she didn't/wasn't aware I had feelings for girls mainly because I never liked girls.
          I just got feelings for her

              She didn't know I had feelings for up until over a year ago now and prior to that we were friends for years.

              Also she grabbed my fingers and held on lightly first and then I properly held her hand for a while.

    I held hands with most of my girl friends as a child. It was just something we did because we were friends and we loved each other as friends. It was a way of showing we cared and protected each other.
