Democracy has flaws?

The one thing I feel that is the downside of democracy is that uneducated peoples vote matter as much as yours. I've talked to people that have strong opinions for or against politicians in the past. But the problem I've noticed is these people have no idea about the politicians policies. They have no idea about trade deals. No idea about taxes, no knowledge of foreign policy or the economy.

Do you ever feel like its crazy that some people get to vote? I bet you could ask 50% of voters very simple questions about the candidate and they could not tell you one thing that the candidate is going to do. They'll just say something like "we need a woman in the whitehouse"

True. This is a major problem in America especially with the immense heated divide between the left and right of politics where people will just vote on the person that's on there leaning. Even I have been guilty of this but can you blame us when an opposition openly supports china thus communism?

    • Atleast you're actually basing your support based of policies. Many people you will talk to will have a hardcore opinion but don't even know the policies.

Theres hilarious videos online where cameramen have went to Trump protests and name off Trump policies and say they were Obama and they supported them. Then they read off Obamas policies and said they were Trumps and they of course called them racist. It's terrifying that those people's votes count as much as someone who follows everything.

Heres the perk of it. None of our votes count for shit. So stop sweating it

    • But thats complete and utter bullshit. My father has been a local politician for decades and I've seen how much time he has spent campaigning. Votes matter. That's how you are elected.

Of course votes matter just not the general public's. They teach it in school even. Our votes are supposed to influence our respenitives or whatever they called it.

At the end of the day it's only like a few thousand. Notes or something that are actually tallied up

        • So you're saying not all the votes are even counted? And this is common knowledge taught in schools?

I always try to keep an open mind with things. If you could provide some kind of source to back that up id look at it but I don't think that's accurate. On election night my dad would follow the whole thing closely. He didnt know if he were gonna win or not.

Its our representatives that votes count and our votes influence there vote. That's the basic to it. Litterly google can tell you it.
