Decline in morning erections

I'm 25 (nearly 26). When I was a teenager and in my early 20s, I had erections virtually every morning on awakening. Now I don't get them very often on a morning. Do they become less common as you get older? I'm just wondering if there's something wrong with me. I've not been with anyone in a long time, so not given it any use. If you've not been with anyone in ages, does your sex drive drop? That might explain the lack of morning erections.

Thank you to everyone for your comments! It sounds as if it is normal. I was concerned because I am using an inhaler (thus steroids), and have heard that reduced sperm count is a side-effect of some steroids.

They still happen but while you are asleep.. So you just don't notice them

As you become older, these do decline. Erections are obviously more controlled and it loses the novelty effect!

It's normal. It happens with age.

  • I think it happens to pretty much every guy.
