Deathcore/deathmetal fans as if to psychopaths

Is it a thought pattern to regard as cognitive bias? On how many levels is it wrong? Is it wrong to think of people who listen to this music genre as someone on psychopathic spectrum?

I don't have a very clear opinion, but I do very much like these genres. What I will say is that people describe me as "patient" most of all, so make of that what you will. Also, death metal and deathcore, metalcore, etc. etc. are genres that include lyrics aren't usually meant to be taken literally. To many artists these lyrics and vocal techniques is a way to emotionally express themselves; to reflect their opinion towards the world; to vent their anger that can't release by just being violent. I could go on for a while, but essentially I can say that I understand your association, on a surface-level peek, but that in this case it's more of a bias.

Yes, artists may smash their guitars, but they do it to entertain. Yes Infant Annihilator screams about the most gruesome shit, but most of that is to add shock-value and letting loose. Yes, some artists might actually be violent, but those are simply violent people, which is not grounded in their favorite style of music.

Define psychopath? We all like what we like☺️. I enjoy those genres, though I’m not very well versed in them to be totally honest. I just welcome any band suggestions, lol

Music taste has nothing to do with psychopathy.

Most fans of the “extreme” metal genres are total dorks in real life.

  • I dont think you can judge people based on their taste in music. I listen to a lot of psychedelic music that ive been told people who smoke weed and take psychedelics likes to and get high to but ive never touched a drug in my life, heck I barely drink alcohol. Its just good music man, it happens to appeal to me. Its dreamy and extremely creative.
Theres def some sketchy folks who like metal though, im thinking specifically of those pagan bands who are also racist and misuses pagan symbols, thats more common in metal than any other genre but it doesnt mean its the majority of metalheads. Most metalheads ive come across irl has been cool people.

Is it wrong to think of people who listen to rap as child-support-avoiding gang-affiliated drug dealers?

Is it wrong to think of people who listen to jazz as music snobs who can't enjoy other genres, because they are too simple and not real music?

Is it wrong to think of people who listen to EDM as MDMA-popping rave junkies?

From interaction with him it seemed like he was honest about his own malignancy.

I don't see people who listen to that genre as being a psychopath.

I've had an encounter with someone in high school who sent me deathcore music links and at one point during conversation in his class he said that he'd rather fuck a corpse since it wouldn't resist.

Sounds like must have errors in the subconscious mind to regard things the wrong way or the different way most people would.
