Death penalty for child sexual abuse?

  • No because often these convictions are based on testimony with no evidence. My niece, after watching Titanic said a boy from her school drew her in the nude like Jack did with Rose. She just wanted attention like Rose got or something. But it never actually happened as the boy never once even came over.

    It's a complicated issue. I would say give them lie detector tests but even they aren't permissible in a court of law as they're not incredibly accurate. I think we all can agree the crime is horrible, but we can't go around murdering innocent people purely based on hearsay. That's little more than what happened with The Salem Witch Trials.

    However if there is evidence I would support a life sentence and possibly death penalty, but our courts don't work that way. A conviction can be made without evidence apparently in the US. So I am against the death penalty for any crime until crimes require evidence for convictions by law.
