I think you are slivhtly mistaken in your logic. Just a smidge. Everyone has the desire to cheat and so everyone is capable of cheating, true. But what separates the faithful from others os that they have strong enough principles to never act on those urges.
Also, that you assess someone's propensity to not cheat by how "head over heels" they were over a person proves you have yet to learn a lot in life.
Curious, how did you find out your partner cheated?
