I do the same thing. I usually don't get enraged a lot, but when I do, I come close to crying. I don't know why.
It honestly don't happen often (since I need to be at the point of literally imploding from anger) but I think it's because, at least with me, I just get overwhelmed with emotion and letting it out in an infuriated way doesn't do just for me emotionally. Plus from there, I just start getting frustrated with myself for crying and cry even more. It's a sucky cycle.
You might not be a very aggressive person and depending on how long the fight is, it might be hard to keep up with your own anger. I find that the longer I'm enraged - the harder it is to keep from crying.
We all have different ways on how we vent, and some ways work better for others.
