I think how cruel the turn down was would depend on how persistent you were. I do think it was rather crass and vulgar of her to say you're not the type of she would want to date or fuck, however I don't think there's anything cruel or particularly sad or mean about the fact that she would never want to have sex with you.
The thing with her best friend is kinda weird though.
